Booking a room closer to the date you intend to stay will get you cheaper prices, but you have to be careful not to wait too long because a lot of people want to go to Vegas. I would do it at the end of this month.
The other thing is rooms are cheaper during the week because most people who go to Vegas are Americans who’ve just flown in for a weekend of gambling. So if you only want a short trip then during the week is the way to go.
Also, there is a cheap hotel there called the Excalibur. It may be cheap but trust me, it’s so not worth it.
Hope this was useful and good luck.

what i found out is the off season, usually January and February, but keep in mind the town is big on beating so starting in march prices will go up, watch out for the conventions too, but to answer your other question if you fly the early you get tickets the cheaper they are, or if you want to go on stand by and that is the day you want to leave , the price is sometimes half

There are lots of bargains to be had in Las Vegas right now. The Excalibur, Tropicana, Sahara, Luxor and Stratosphere always have great rates. Cheapest nights are Monday through Thursday with Saturday having the most expensive rates. I would book now or very soon, rates will rarely drop anymore. You can always change your reservations if you find a better deal (make sure you read the terms before making reservations though).

Check the rates of the hotel you want to stay at everyday, and when you decide to book, do it. Don’t wait too long, as Vegas is a popular city and many people go there. I suggest tracking the prices for 3 days, and if they don’t go up, book the room. They seem to go up every few days, esp. the more luxurious hotels (Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Las Vegas Hilton, etc.). Good luck and have fun!
