I am looking for a cheap hotel right on the strip that also has oceanfront rooms with balconys. Im not exactly sure where the heart of the strip is but i would like to be where i can just walk out of the hotel and the strip is right there and everything is in walking distance. What hotel would be the best and also what types of attractions are on the strip?

Dayton House at 2500 block of Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach is a great choice.
Grand Strand Inn & Suites (Best Western) which is south of downtown gets great reviews also but I have not stayed there.
Do not stay at the Poindexter, Polynesian or Tides Inn & Suites.
Not many attractions downtown anymore since the Pavilion closed. Cheap beach shops, a Ripleys museum and the Gay Dolphin gift shop and a mini golf, that is about it until the revitalization and redevelopment gets completed, whenever that is.
Most everything is going to be on Hwy 17 (Kings Hwy) or out at Broadway at the Beach or on 501.
