I am staying in Las Vegas for 1-2 months. What areas are safe to find a motel/apartment?

LilPolock asked:

I am relocating from Chicago to Las Vegas area this year so I am spending just over a month there to look at the job market.

I have the paper and looked at some of the furnished apartments listed, but have no idea whether they are ok. It seems a lot of them are located just off the Strip (behind the big hotels) or by Fremont Street…are they safe, clean, etc?

Do you know any motels or apartments that rent weekly or just monthly (no lease) that are cheap and safe.

Any and all suggestions would really be appreciated. I don’t know much about the surrounding suburbs of Vegas, so suggestions for those areas will be great too.

I am looking for cheap checkbook covers…of Vegas is what I am really looking for, but anything will do. Not sports or puppies or kittens. I have found places online, but do they sell them at Staples? Or WalMart? Or Office Max?

Mr SmoothHead asked:

I’m planning to spend about 4 nights at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas the first week of Las Vegas.

Is this a pretty good place to stay. It is a bit expensive, but seems worth it.

Are there any other place on the strip that I can stay that is comparable to Venetian, but cheaper?
Sorry, first week of November.

I am going to be in vegas on 3/16-3/18 and wanted to know if there are any comps I can buy from someone like show tickets, buffet, room upgrade. Thanks for the help
I do know that comps are usually given depending on your play. I want to know if you know anyone that I can buy the comps from. Like a pit boss or inside employee. :)
